Good quality furniture brands to look for on ebay?

I really like second-hand furniture and looking on ebay for some bargains. I normally look for phrases like 'solid wood' because this should denote quality, but I'm also wondering if there are good quality brands I could be looking for?

My current project is turning the spare room into a home office, so I'm after a desk and storage. I wouldn't spend money on second-hand ikea as I know it doesn't last. I was thinking of places like Heal's and Habitat? Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA!

I look for second hand ercol and g-plan.

They are quality brands and expensive if new. They are often hard to find in light wood though, lots of it is the dark 1970s colours.

Grange from France in good quality but dark cherry on ebay, you'd probably need to paint it.

I have some ercol, so I know that is good quality! Just looked up G-plan and Grange, and there is quite a lot on there, thanks. Anyone know of any more furniture designers/makers?
