We moved into our house in June, just working through the decorating room by room. Next on the list is the kitchen, we need to paint the walls which are currently artexed in a knobbly green colour!! Its a temporary fix as eventually we want to change cupboards, whst colour woukd you say goes with the dark cupboards and green splashback, also worktops are a green colour too.

White.

IMO kichen cupboards need to be white so you can clean them easily.

Just sand the doors you have down and paint them. It will take a while but it is worth it and a damn sight cheaper if you are not replacing the whole thing or moving cupboards around.

Sorry, you are doing the walls, not the cupboards.

Walls er...yeah, white, or you can get a white that has a hint of green in.

If you colour matched the cream from the tiles that will lighten and freshen with out adding another colour in to keep things calm !

I'd leave the walls as they are (or repaint in a deepish green if they're tatty) and paint the cupbords cream.

White won't go with those brownish tiles and the overall decor you have. I speak from experience Smile

I'd probably try a white-with-a-hint-of the tile colour - you can get it colour matched.

Thanks everyone was thinking a cream with green accessories or a bright green. Eventually want to knock through into utility to make a bigger kitchen. will mention to oh about sanding down cupboard doors, but he actually likes them!!!

They look like 'Vermont' by Ram - very popular when I started designing kitchens back in '85 !!!! Solid American oak (wide grain - all english oak is tight grain) so will paint well if sanded and under coated !!

Your probably right, the house was built in 85, all the rooms apart from master bedroom, were like throw back from the 80, s!!!
