We are planning on extending our kitchen to make a large kitchen diner with bifold doors out to the back garden. We already have a solid oak dining table from our existing dining room which we are going to make into a playroom.

I need advice about cabinets and surfaces and splash backs etc.

I really like some of the blue cabinets around at the minute eg Pags which she shared on here a while ago or possibly a colour like turquoise/green. But not sure if coloured cabinets will date.

Would it be safer to go for white cabinets, perhaps with wooden work tops to tie in with table? And then turquoise/blue/ green accents with tiles etc?

I really want it to be light and bright.

My husband likes taupey / sludgy greys but I'm worried this is a bit old hate now and might date also?

And ideas or sources of inspiration?

Hi we have just had a new kitchen put in last week and am delighted with it! Just now thinking about wall colours. We went to Magnet who were so brilliant at designing and had a 40" screen in 3-d to look at. My kitchen was dated, now its very modern and bright, love it esp my grey worktops. I went for a vanilla white kitchen, so I can ring the changes with accessories when I get fed up with it! Have posted pics on my profile! Good luck.
