What colour of curtains would you go for?

Our living room walls are painted white. The two sofas are grey. One of the sofas is in the large square bay window.

What colour of curtains would you choose? Don't want to go for a bright colour as the window is almost bigger than the room and it would take over, plus it would be a pain having to buy more curtains if we change colour schemes.

White curtains? Help I'm completely stuck on this!

Teal? Would go quite well with the grey, is a warm enough colour so the room doesn't look too cold, but not too bright either. plus it's my favourite colour

Thanks guys. I agree, I've now gone off the idea of white curtains. It really would look too stark.

Headed to good old reliable ikea today and got a white/purple print set which look great and add some colour to the room without being too in your face.

(Teal is my favourite colour too but I have it everywhere in the house so trying to wean myself off it!)
