Blonde question about painting!

Painting my bedroom next week from top to bottom

Just need to know in doing it right.

So I'm painting the ceiling first so no need for masking as all the other walls will need painting.
Do I wait then until it's dry and mask round the ceiling so I don't get wall paint on it?

Similarly when I do the skirtings I obviously mask them when I paint the wall but then do I mask the wall when painting the skirtings??

Ceiling first.
Then Id do skirting boards.
Leave all to dry.
Mask top of skirting board and do edges of the wall that meet all woodwork.
At the ceiling - if you have a steady hand and a good brush you may not need to mask the ceiling. Do all edges against ceiling and skirts first, to a couple of inches in, then roller the whole wall.

Sounds an ok plan or you can do what I'll be doing tomorrow which is to paint the whole lot white (same colour)!
Unfortunately as I'm doing the kitchen there is still a fair bit of masking where it abuts units/worktops but I don't have to worry about the big joins as much.

Sounds like a good plan to me.
Don't forget to wear a hat to protect the odd splash-back and have a rag handy for those unfortunate hand-slip moments.
I've seen even the most experienced painters end up with paint all over them at the end of the job.
