Can anyone find me curtains to compliment this wallpaper?

In the middle of planning DS1's new room.

He's about to turn 12.

He's picked this wallpaper.

I just can't find anything suitable at all.

Window is 120cm width, 150cm length. Argos came closest with their colour match stuff, except they only do a 137cm drop FFS!

Thank you!

These look close to the colour!

You might need to add a white 'blackout' blind too ? As they look quite lightweight !

Fab wallpaper !!!

The wall paper is busy so how about simple curtains like these

The other problem (I should have added!) is that DS wants a particular bedding, and I am struggling to get them all to match.

He doesn't mind which colour.

I'm thinking of maybe not getting the green wallpaper - as they do a plain black and white one. Then going with splashes of colour.

It's a small room, so trying to make the best of it for him!

Yes, get the black and white wallpaper and then add the colour with the bedding and curtains. Are you just doing one wall with the paper? If it's a small room I would be tempted to go white on the other walls.

soontobeslendergirl · 17/01/2014 14:56

or do without curtains and get a nice white (blackout) blind and have the wallpaper in green with the bedding in green too?

Well, the room is currently baby DS2's! It is white, with one wall having massive bold colourful stripes. That wall is the one we will line, then paper over (hopefully!) and I am considering doing the opposite wall the same.

The door is opposite the window, so those 2 walls can just stay plain white.

I already have these pictures, so maybe I should try and match the rest (bedding, curtains or blind, and comfy chair (thinking Poang) to those and go with the black and white paper www.wallpaperdirect.com/products/albany/comic-strip/86903.

I'm very indecisive! I don't want to get it wrong, because it is such a small room, and DS1 is being shoved in there from having almost 12 years in the big room! I want to make it worth it for him - although he is quite happy at the whole thing! Mother's guilt?!

I am a firm believer in plain white curtains, and think it would particularly work with that wallpaper (in the black and white) with the green duvet cover.

Keep it simple, don't overthink it. If you want a more sleek look you could get white wooden blinds instead of white curtains?

TheDetective · 17/01/2014 16:11

I've already got vertical blinds there, so would go for black out blinds if I went for a blind.

I have to have matching windows Blush.

His bed is a highsleeper - black metal.

Furniture will be Ikea malm drawers in white, with the expedit unit in white on the wall (above door, won't be seen on entering room).

I think the black and white will look better.

Then might get red poang. So need some colourful curtains (or blind) and bedding.

Back to the drawing board!

I would put plain bright orange curtains with that wallpaper.
