We moved into our house in June, everywhere needs redecorating!!

It is the turn of my ds2 next, ds1 and dd, sorted.

Ds1 had his own ideas, new york mural feature wall, so thst was great.

Ds2, hasnt a clue, he is just coming up to 13, any ideas anyone?

I always start by looking at wallpaper. If he finds one he likes, ideas for colours, carpets, feature walls and curtains all tend to jump out at once.

Had no idea I wanted a feature wall of printed pheasants (sounds awful but it's sketches in silver and black on cream wall) in my bedroom, until I fell in love. Then the duck egg blue just seemed to fit and I bought curtains and bedding.

Find one statement piece he loves (bedding or walls) and go from there.

Keep it simple! One wall in a colour he likes, the rest white/neutral and he can personalise it himself later.

Or you can have a basic colour theme which he can then personalise, like nature (greens and browns), nautical (white, navy, red), or just black and white. Or maybe a trendy shade of grey?

I wouldn't make it too 'themed' in case he grows to hate it later.

Could he go for a mural wall as well? DS has one of these grafitti ones:

A friend of mine has just done her sons bedroom - loft bed with tv/games console.and sofa underneath.

Black ikea furniture. Lime green walls. Loads of hooks up one wall for his hats.
