Red sex wall - what curtains?

Changebagsandtinselrags · 04/01/2014 21:01

We've painted our living room alcoves in The a dulux red sex wall colour. Rest of the room has neutral walls. Brown sofa. Matching red sex wall colour rug.

Cannot find curtains. Would like hints of dark red or brown. Would prefer a lighter colour as a base. The room is dark anyway.

Needs to be pencil pleat.

Anyone have any ideas?

If the room is dark, you need to have light coloured curtains, the same colour as the rest of the walls.

Unless you are planning orgies.

is there really a shade called red sex Grin that's a bit weird for dulux isn't it?

we had dark red walls years ago and had black blinds which looked better than you probably imagine.

Oh dear, I thought a sex wall must be one with usefully placed .. um .. items for the actively minded.

I'll get my coat.

meditrina · 04/01/2014 21:14

But yes, pale coloured curtains to fit the neutral, else they'll be overwhelming. Perhaps with coloured border/deep hem if you want to tie the scheme together.

I clicked on the thread to find out what a sex wall was. I have to admit to being a teeny bit disappointed by my misunderstanding...

And I can't even offer anything helpful in relation to curtains either.

I have curtains in this fabric that might fit the bill?

I got ready made ones but I had to wait ages for a pair to come up in the right size on ebay :)

Just checked Debenhams and didn't see anything there

soontobeslendergirl · 04/01/2014 21:31

There are these but not sure about the shade of red and might be a bit old fashioned?:

Changebagsandtinselrags · 04/01/2014 21:37

I do like those, but maybe the red is too bright. So I'm old fashioned now lol.

ha ha -sorry, I have no idea how old you are or what style you like, so just stabbing in the dark. I did put a Question mark and that was because I wasn't sure if they were old fashioned or not - most of my curtains apart from the Laura Ashley ones are plain - I like a nice patterned Roman blind teamed with plain curtains usually :)

gallicgirl · 04/01/2014 21:45

Oh god! We've got that exact colour. I think that article was written about me.

[SHOCK]

Have you tried Terrys fabrics or Paul Simon? (The blind people rather than the singer)

Changebagsandtinselrags · 04/01/2014 21:56

Not tried Paul Simon as the local shop recently closed down. Maybe I'll look online. Not even heard of Terry's, don't buy curtains often!

Dunelm mill and even Robert Dyas sell curtains online.
We're looking at the moment and struggling to work outwhat we wwant.
