We have been meaning to decorate hall, stairwell & landing for over a year & have been putting it off as can't find paper we like! Well I've had enough so I'm turning to all of you for inspiration! We have a large reception hall 17'x8' and then 2 flights of wide stairs with half landings then main landing is about same size as hallway. It's nice & airy as we have large bays on half landings. The house is Victorian & full of original features. We have to wallpaper as walls would need skimming to paint & that's big expensive job! I like the shabby chic look but not sure it goes in this period of house (?). We want to do a feature wall on each floor & rest walls plain. Our carpet is a warm creamy caramel colour. Our stairs are dark wood uppers & white wood on treads with carpet runner. Our hall/landing furniture is dark wood but contemplating painting. We also have picture rail so area above that needs painting(ok to paint this & not paper) need to paint all woodwork too, like matt finish but not sure of colour other than off white/cream. So any ideas please?? Thank you
