Budget friendly kitchen?

Are the 'big guys' like Ikea/ B and Q our best bet or are their any smaller companies that are competitively priced?

We only need a handful of units to go along one wall as the kitchen is pretty small and we're having a welsh dresser/ open shelving at wall height to save costs.

We're looking at the pale coloured traditional country style ones ideally. Thanks.

I think it depends, some independents are cheaper, some are x10 the cost.

You need to visit a few showrooms or ask tradesmen for recommendations

We bought ours from wren at the back end of last year. We had 2 corner metal pull out thingys, one 800mm set of draws, 2 300mm sets of draws, a sink unit, an oven housing, cupboard doors for the top cupboards we weren't changing, kick boards, sink, tap, work tops and end plinths etc and we only paid 4k
It would have been cheaper but because we weren't changing the top cupboards we had to leave the hob and oven where they were and work round them.

Because they came ready built our joiner only took 4 days to fit the kitchen including a whole new floor and joists which cost us £900 all in.

Just done ours and found Ikea to be most cost effective

We got b and q but the more expensive doors (Cooke and Lewis?) fit onto the cheaper cupboards so unless people go riffling through the cupboard it looks a lot nicer then it is! Our was £3k, we fitted ourselves but they wanted £2k extra if they fitted it
