I'm interested in getting a gas fire (hopefully one that looks like a realistic open fire) but have heard lots of conflicting things about needing visible air vents in the walls nearby and about how effective they are at warming.
Any recommendations as to suppliers in the Hertfordshire area (not SimplyFireplaces in Southdown please - they are really unpleasant to deal with) or suggestions as to where I can get sensible advice?
