Help please . Just moved into a new house. I need to decorate but before we get round to it I really need a lift. Everything is brown or beige! Brown 30s fireplace which I like but brown carpet , goldfish feature wall and beige walls. Unfortunately my sofa is brown too!

What can I do? What goes? Was thinking of getting a cream ish neutral carpet and new curtains but hat colour? Duck egg with cushions the same? I just want something other than brown!

Hi Lagoon, no advice as were living with rather a lot of yellow at the moment, Im thinking they must have bought it in bulk! But, how was the move? I`m feeling settled now and love love love my new house, worth all the pain! Wine for us.

Ps, Duck egg does go nice with beiges and browns.

Nice to see you NOT on the buyers support thread! Move was chaos. More messing about from the top of chain. Didn't get in the house til 5!

Liking the house but living in it shows me all its flaws. Tv airily dodgy , kitchen s bit bodged and need to redecorate all through. Happy to be here though. You?

Tinsel? Fairy lights?

Seriously - get some bright cushions and rugs for now eg turquoise or red?

Yes, Im so happy, and yes I dont see the flaws until you move it, yellow yellow yellow, house is so big its hard to heat, needs decorating really but Im going to live with it all for a while and see what I think in a few months. Move was ok, but wouldnt want to do it again any time soon.

Well though, we both in, decorating can come later, main thing is to have a good christmas now!
