Hi All (Sorry cant link on my phone)

We have decided to push hard to try and decorate our living room for Christmas. Its a complete blank canvass as we built our house 3 years ago and haven't had the money or time to do anything with it!

We are thinking of a slate grey carpet. We need to put in a ood burning stove and I want to put a grey tile around that.

I have seen the most gorgeous wallpaper - www.harlequin.uk.com/DesignDetails.aspx
in Oatmeal, dahlia and Fuschia. This will be on one wall only.

I need ideas for what to paint the other walls and also advice on what curtains you'd choose?

Also we will be looking for a new suite of furniture in the New Year (using black leather from our sun room in the mean time)

The wallpaper is really non-negotiable so would love to hear any ideas you have to tie in with it.

TIA

What about dulux just walnut or farrow and ball cornforth white on your other walls?

I've got a slate grey carpet. It goes with everything. I'd pick out one of the wallpaper colours (oatmeal most neutral) and add in some accessories in different colours until you're sure. I've got loads of silver in mine but I think it's too much. I'd stick with your black furniture for now to see how it goes. I think I would go for lots of burgundy to warm up the grey and to tie in with the wallpaper.

I think deep brown furniture would go too.

Have you done a mood board?

Thank you

Yes Thereis that is the paper. Its slightly brighter in the flesh. I love it.

I havent done a mood board yet but starting to gather all my ideas together now so will put one together.

I need to get some paint colour cards to have a look - Id lke something near the Oatmeal colour of the paper but something not to creamy to tie in with the grey carpet and black furniture.

I went into a really posh interiors shop today and got loads of ideas for matching curtains, blinds and cushions. The lady was really pushing the Harlequin fabrics but they are just so expensive I just dont think I can stretch that far.
