Big sheets of coloured glass in a bathroom?

Has anyone done this instead if tiling? Who did you use? Is it as low maintenance as I imagine?

I haven't but my concern would be how you would seal around the edges? obviously you could use mastic but that does tend to peel a bit after time and you'd get horrible damp and mould under the glass. you'd have to keep a very beady eye on the state of the mastic. would look nice though i think.

You could get big coloured glass tiles - I just ordered a sample of Linea Vetro tile and they come as large as 298 mm x 1200 mm.

I can't quite visualise what you mean, but recycled glass tiles are beautiful...

I've used it on jobs for clients and it's good as long as it's fitted correctly.
It's a very clean contemporary look but fitting is key especially in a shower.
These are the last ones I specified and they were lovely.
The last job I used them on, included childrens bathrooms and we used bright orange in one, lime in another and yellow in another.
I used them with white walls and white tiles and they looked fab.

we have just fitted these, the company who made them (there are loads out there) had to fit twice as the first time the larger panel "popped" and broke into safety glass size bits. The second fit was perfect and it is nice not to have to worry about grout going mouldy or discoloured. It also looks rather good! They were very exact about the fitting to make sure the seals are perfect, and guarantee that it will be water tight or they will replace / refund. We used a nice bright blue colour in an otherwise white bathroom with dark slate colour tiles on the floor, but they will match any colour you want from pretty much any pallet you can provide. I would recommend it as an option for a shower area.
