What colour should I decorate my living room?

Decided that I need to decorate my living room as it's starting to look old. I've just bought a grey & black corner sofa & I've no idea what colour to decorate. The floor is a light wood & the skirting etc is white. I would like something modern, maybe a feature wall & the rest painted. But what colours will match in with the new sofa?

Shades of grey very fashionable and would go. Duck egg? Is it a north or south facing room?

Plums and purples?
Red/burgundy
Greens?

We have some great feature wallpapers in our store.

It's a north facing room. I have a black & grey wallpaper with big purple flowers. It might be nice on the feature wall, could I pain the remaining walls grey or would that be too much?

Duck egg would be a good option it would be nice & light.
