Where to buy a sofa

I am desperately looking for a sofa. I need it to cope with two sport mad boys who have a tendency to come in from playing footie and sit on sofa!

I want a fabric sofa - we have leather elsewhere. Can you suggest any good places to look at sofas. We live in SW London but will travel as I need to test a sofa before buying. Tried sofa.com but not sure the covers are what I want. Don't want a linen look or overly squishy that will always look messy!

Thanks.

I should have said would lie to look at a mid range sofa. Want something that is decent quality and will last.

I've just bought a couple of sofas from Next and I'm very pleased with them.

We have a sofa.com sofa and it's not lineny or particularly squishy. (we have the maltby in pigeon herringbone fabric). I really like it, very comfy. they have a showroom in Lots Road area so very easy to visit.

other mid range places to look: Sofas and Stuff (showroom in Fulham I think), Sofa Workshop, Loaf, John Lewis, Sofasofa.com (cheaper, but good reviews on MN), Lombok, Raft, London Sofa Company (based in acton).

The tricky part is finding a sofa with removable covers (which I assume you want with your boys!) as lots of the smarter non squishy sofas have fixed covers. Sofa.com are good for this, Sofa Workshop are too but not sure about the others I've listed.

Thks mini pie and selks. Good suggestions. I like sofa.com but was worried they are too lineny and squishy which will always look messy. Off to have another look.

Thks

Xx
