My dad has some really different contemporary mirrors by a Belgian company (that sells in UK too) called Deknudt - I googled them and they've got some really nice ones

You don't need to limit your search to silver mirrors, you could use silver leaf, plenty of tutorials on you tube, do a base coat in a decent silver 9if needed), then use silver leaf over it, for a beautiful finish.
