Lighting fora kitchen with a low ceiling

I was hoping we could get away with some pendant lights but the ceiling seems very low for those.

I'm looking for metal or glass. Any ideas please?

We have a low ceiling too. Went for spots round the edge and a metal pendant over the table (no danger of walking into it!).

Would those rise and fall ones work?

Was the installation
of the spots expensive? We would have to make new insertions as kitchen is currently served by 3 black basic chandelier type things.

Not sure, don't think it was loads at all. We got nice LED ones which are fab.
