Whole house has cream carpet - two kids and a dog!!

Hi All,

I am moving into a beautiful rented house and the whole thing has cream carpet - thinking of getting a runner for infront of front door for shoes, scooeters, bikes and buggys. Can anyone offer some dining table area solutions - I am thinking a rug would get as stained and although it wouldn't affect my deposit it would just look crap covered in bean juice.

Any thoughts please?

A rug was my only thought. I tried putting oil cloth under the high chair but tbh it looked rubbish and the food still got to the carpet. An extreme measure would be to take up the carpets and lay something more practical yourself and then when you move out put the original carpet back down.

when we were renting with a pram over a winter we got some of that clear thick plasticky runner stuff so we used to roll it down, put the stuff on it but if the pram was folded away, shoes were put away we could just roll it up and tuck it in the corner.
