If you had this wallpaper on a feature wall in your dining room...

..would you try to match the paint to the blue colour or pick up the sandy colour in the pattern? I have to pick out paint and am not sure which direction to go in. Blue might look too cold but the other colour might be a bit magnolia. We're in a new build and everything is magnolia apart from the walls that need painting. They're currently white.

I'll need to get curtains as well. No idea what colour to make those. I'm going to wait till the decorating is done and hope inspiration hits me :)

I would go with the magnolia

I'd go for the golden sand colour to keep the room warmer looking.

I'd go with the magnolia/cream/whatever it is same as the flower petals for the walls and then the gold colour for the curtains.

I'm not one for wallpaper or feature walls but that is pretty .

I would get tester pots of the colours you want to link with it and patch test, roll out some wallpaper next to it. I'd be skipping off to Farrow and Ball very happily, or do L Ashley still do paint? They'll then obviously have colours to blend.

There are two colours in the flowers. I would consider these of a 'natural' hue. Therefore you could use anything from cream, grey, magnolia, stone, mushroom, golds etc. Good luck choosing.

oh.. and warm blue-reds look good next to light blues

I like the idea of gold curtains :) It's a gorgeous wallpaper, even nicer in real life. It's washable too - hopefully toddler proof!

I've got the L Ashley Duck Egg in the kitchen, and Pale duck egg in the hall. It's gorgeous and not cold at all

I agree with the others - go with the natural sandy colour.

Caramel paint !! Will be warm and is stronger then magnolia ! Like the darkest colour on the flowers ! - get it made to match for best results !
Teamed with duck egg curtains and a duck egg table runner with a gold bowl in the centre with duck egg and caramel and magnolia balls in and three wooden ducks on the windowcill - painted in each colour !! ( sorry I got a bit carried away there !! Lol )

Ive got a similar laura ashley paper- duck egg but with different floral design in my bedroom.ive got duck egg walls and it looks lovely but i dont think the blue walls would look right in a dining room. I agree with the other posters on cream walls.

I know what you mean cheesenpickle. I've been trying to get that shade of blue into the house for ages but I think it might be too blue for a lively room if you know what I mean.

It would be nice in a bedroom too. Our bedroom is currently magnolia with apple green bedding and accessories and is unlikely to be decorated for years yet.

I have put a duckegg and grey paper on the chimney breast in my kitchen. The rest of the walls are Dulux Timeless. It is lovely and light.

We have a similar paper in our living room and we painted the walls 'soft coffee' from b&q - it picks out the beigey/gold colour and looks warm.

I would go for plain duck egg curtains from laura ashley and the walls in cotton white.I have similar colour scheme in my bedroom but the opposite. Laura's ashley patterned curtains duck egg, duck egg paint feature wall and rest walls in Jasmine white by dulux
