Curtains for playroom - what colour?

We are turning one of the bedrooms into a playroom for the kids (4, ranging from 2yrs to 12 yrs, boys & girls). We have an old habitat navy sofabed which will go in there, and I was thinking the walls would be a neutral, mushroom/grey ish colour, but what colour curtains should I go for? Or would a roman blind be better?

The room is fairly large, about 12 ft by 12ft.

Also, should I stick with plain, or go for patterned? I was thinking plain, as the room will be overrun with plastic tat colourful tasteful wooden toys & framed children's paintings.

Hmm, I think I would go for plain navy curtains and/or a blind to match the sofa. If you've got a smart phone, you can download their app which is fab. It gives the full colour range and suggests colour schemes based on your selection. You can even take a photo, so in your case the sofa, and it will colour match it and suggest good colour schemes. I'm addicted to it, so much fun playing around with different colours .

It's one by Dulux. If you go to their website there is a link on there somewhere for google play and iPhone App Store or you could search for dulux.

What about red, white and blue stripes then accessorise with plain red cushions etc?

We have striped curtains in our playroom & a navy sofa. I love the curtains as they look really fresh.
