I've got one of those small stripped wood Ikea kids tables and chairs for my son which is covered in felt tips and crayon marks. I am doing him a superheroes/Marvel themed bedroom and want to paint it white and then paint Captain America's shield on the top of the table (dh is pissing himself at my ideas, I have no idea why
).
Anyhow, I'm pretty arty but I'm not sure which paint to use. I don't want the Annie sloane type look. What I'm after is a solid look, obviously red white and blue will be the colours so quite bold. Would it be ok to use gloss or just use emulsion and then varnish?
