We are hopefully moving to a new house shortly. Whilst it doesn't need any major work, it will need decoration throughout, new flooring upstairs and we will need lots of additional furniture for all the extra space. I always used to read Living etc but this house is late 1800's/1900's so I'd like slightly less modern but still contemporary. Any magazines or websites that anyone could recommend for inspiration for the style of house?

Thank you.

25 beautiful homes? They seem to have a good mix with the balance in favour of victorian or georgian etc. i love it even though my home will NEVER look anything like those.

I love 25 Beautiful Homes but haven't bought it since I discovered pinterest. Pinterest is great for decorating and design ideas.

My favourite is Ideal Home (and I buy them all!) I have looked at Pinterest, but don't really understand it.

I'd recommend the website: Houzz

Very american but has a lot of content.

I like Elle Decoration, mainly for their high end ideas for me to then replicate at low end stores....

I like Style at Home myself but the focus styles in it vary from month to month. isn't there one called something like period homes? might be worth a look.

Style at Home and Your Style are only £1.99 which makes them a lot more affordable than other home mags which is why I like them.

I think a lot of goggling on images can often provide much more specific ideas if you know the sort of thing you are looking for.

I read ideal home, house beautiful and good homes. And love pinterest. You can add all the things you love. Be your own interior designer

And I get them through tesco clubcard vouchers on subscription. So doesn't cost me a penny
