Just decorated our bedroom in a very pale blue/grey sort of colour. Only problem is, our furniture was bought as a job lot when we moved in and had nothing and we didn't have a big budget. It' all fake beech effect cheap laminate crap that looks a horrible tan/orange colour and it really clashes with the colour of the walls.

I want to try and paint them white but DH reckons it'll look messy and rubbish. I know you can get specialist paint for pairing cupboards etc but don't know how good it looks when it's on.

I would go for it. I have painted a dresser, locker etc. Change the handles too.. Bombay Duck do lovely ones.

I painted mine in Farrow and Ball Eggshell but have heard Annie Sloan is great but you need to wax them after. Let us know how you get on. It can be tedious.

Maybe don't go for pure white.
