King size cabin beds?

I want to avoid lots of furniture in our bedroom so am looking for something with proper storage underneath, maybe two drawers high? Not as high as bunk beds though. I can only find single cabin beds. Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere that does queen / king sized ones?

We stayed in a place earlier in the summer where they had 'built' them using shelving units with baskets underneath and a bed base on top.
It was very sturdy, nicely finished and had loads of storage.
These guys seem to do a kingsize cabin bed here
Or here

Hi - have only ever seen this done once - so just emailed the designer who did it ! He said he used custom drawers from the Kent company Jali - then put a divan type mattress on top.... It worked though ! And as Jali custom make each time - you can request any height within their range ! Basically was two low four drawer cabinets back to back ! Bolted together from underneath - total of eight drawers !
Hope that helps !

Great, thank you! Am not sure we can stretch to making one (or having one made) but useful to know that. Will check out those other links more closely. Smile

I think the ikea hackers site might have some ideas you could use.

Cabin beds are undeniably the best beds for small rooms that efficiently take care of economy of space and money. In my opinion the best choice for me would be the cabin bed as not only does it look stylish and modern it is a very practical piece of furniture providing ample storage underneath for people of all ages with smaller bedrooms. In this modern age, cabin beds are the most desired beds and they are available in different materials.
