Which Farrow and Ball colour to paint kitchen cabinets?

We are getting hand painted kitchen cabinets. Can anyone give me some colour suggestions from the Farrow and Ball estate eggshell range? What do you think about olive? Is it too avocado bathroom suite? Need ideas as I really cannot decide! Thanks as once its done its done as we cannot afford a repaint.

not what you asked, but my painter suggested that we didn't use f&b eggshell as it's water based, he recommended oil based eggshell as likely to give a better/longer lasting result. Little Greene Company, Paint + Paper Library and Sanderson all do oil based eggshells and lots of lovely colours. We have Slate II from Paint & Paper lIbrary on our kitchen cabinets.

have a look at this too. They use lots of different farrow and ball paints for their kitchens.

for above link you need to go to gallery - recent kitchens

French grey.

It's an olivey, greeny grey. Totally perfect - have it on my cupboards.

If you do google image it will come up with my a kitchen painted in it.

I wouldnt recommend F&B either - my kitchen cupboards are painted in French Grey but its not been hard wearing at all. In fact 2 years on and I'm going to have them redone. I have to say we are a clumsy household with 3 young children so perhaps F&B might fare better without those factors.

PS Dulux and others will colour match f and B colours in oil based eggshell if you ask. But check the matched colour as we found the matches were hit and miss. Little Greene will also colour match, costs more but the match was perfect.

Thanks for the ideas. Think we will give Farrow and Ball a miss as the kitchen is costing a fortune anyway so don't want to pay for a repaint. I had never heard of the Little Greene Paint company. Just checked out their website and have ordered loads of samples as it looks brilliant. Thanks!

Bone - a real classic.

I'm having either cornforth white or elephants breath on painted shaker units
just waiting for a mockup door painted one on one side and the other on the other so I can make a final choice

One thing I only discovered recently about Farrow and Ball is that you get a totally different result if you use their undercoat. I was only advised of this when I bought from a F&B shop instead of an ordinary paint shop.

Elephants breath looks fab.
