Lampshade conversion

I've just bought a gorgeous lampshade, it's a 'second' so I don't want to return it - but I now realise its got the holder at the bottom, so it's for a lamp, rather than at the top, for a pendant. I seem to remember my parents having metal converter thingies - does anyone know what i'm talking about? Googling has so far revealed nothing.

This may sound silly, but lots of lampshades are able to be used either way up. You just take hold of each side of the metal bit and swivel down or up depending which end of the holder you need the bulb fitting bit.

Does that make sense? Worth checking.

I know exactly what you mean, but sadly this shade is fixed, with a single circle in the middle, about an inch up from the base of the shade.

Don't suppose this is any use?

any use

Thank you - i think that's the opposite of what I need - my shade is for a lamp and i need it to be for a pendant.

Fortunately I emailed the head office and they have offered to send me an alternative and then I will send them the one i have back. Very trusting!
