What colour should I paint my kitchen?

Just about to get a new kitchen which will be white with Iroko worktops and (probably) some kind of Karndean stone-ish floor. Walls are currently pale purple, painted when we moved in as the last owners had them hideous orange.

Room is a decent size, with a standard window. Gets most light from mid-morning. The rest of the house is fairly neutral.

I don't want blue or yellow but would prefer to avoid a pale creamy colour as 1) bit dull and 2) will show every bloody mark!

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I like green for it

cooking apple green or green ground or elephants breath - farrow and ball?

Green could work - thanks both. I will have to look at some paint charts. Never used farrow and ball before - how hard wearing is it?

Chartreuse (a variant of 'mustard') is beautiful with white and wood. Have you got Pinterest? It's an amazing resource.

Thanks, I will see if I can find that.
I have looked at Pinterest but haven't really got into it yet - maybe I should have another go!
