Do you have a metal bed frame?

Is it creaky?
We are going to replace our bed. Dh wants metal, I'm not sure as I think it'll be creaky.
Dh isn't massive but he tends to fling himself about a bit - his side of the mattress and sofa are much more knackered than mine. His half of the sofa has needed repairing twice!

Is there anything to look for that makes a metal bed less likely to creak?

Ours is metal with wooden slats. It doesn't creak! We do tighten bolts from time to time though.

We have one - it's 16 years old now, and does tend to rattle a bit now. Depends what's occurring at the time... TBH I think it would have been fine except that DS1 used to use it like a climbing frame, and some of the decorative bits are now loose and impossible to tighten up. I think that, if we'd looked after it better, it would have been fine.
