Wardrobes in an alcove with a small gap either side

Is this a bad idea?

I'm thinking of getting ikea pax wardrobes to put in an alcove. It measures 2.2m. Pax wardrobes are 2m so there would be a 10cm gap either side/ 20cm on one side.

Would it look pants?

Is there a solution?

Fitted wardrobes built to fit the gap may be OTT price wise.

Sorry I can't offer an alternative but not sure a gap either side would look great.

I think it would be fine. We have a similar arrangement (two alcoves, two wardrobes, both with a small gap either side). Personally, I hate fitted wardrobes anyway so it didn't bother me.
