Pure white or putty in Victorian room?

Currently decorating the living room and can't decide between pure white or a putty colour, which we already have in the hall. Victorian house, big windows, cornicing/picture rails, etc.

Obviously putty would give a nice contrast with the wood work but white is so lovely, stark and modern. What do you think? Smile

White is also boring (think rental flats). Putty sounds more fun without being at all out there. And way more practical too...

white isnt boring. We have vicrorian house and quite alot of white. just make sure you have colourful pictures/assessories etc. We used Jasmine White Dulux. A little softer than brilliant white but still loos like its white
