I'm rubbish at this. I've chosen cream wallpaper with silver trees on for one wall. What colour walls? What about curtains and throws? Room is quite dark, it's the living room. But I have dogs, so nothing too light on the throws. Help... Please

What kind of cream? Would it go with duck egg blue and chocolate? Or a warm grey?

PrincessWellington · 28/06/2013 23:21

There are different creams? Oh my! It's very light cream...

Envy I want that wallpaper waiting for DC2 to stop drawing on walks.

As you were.

PoppyWearer · 28/06/2013 23:23

Walks? Walls!

PrincessWellington · 29/06/2013 15:45

Yes, it's my first ever wallpaper! Not sure what colours though...

Do you have a pic of the wallpaper, or the brand/style name? Creams can have different undertones, e.g. yellow or pink or green etc. It changes what they go with.

Some examples: this or this or this?

PrincessWellington · 29/06/2013 22:40

It is from Next. If you look on the site and search trees wallpaper you should find it

If I've found the right one it looks like a greenish cream. I'd stick with a warmer set of colours, eg avocado, brown, natural wood...

Like this or this (colours not style I mean).

PrincessWellington · 29/06/2013 23:29

Yeah it does look greenish on screen but the reviews say it is white. Will have to see when it arrives

Pale green looks great with silver tones (check out zoffany paint colour ice floes- expensive but easy to copy in a nice Matt texture) then cosy it up with various textures and shade variations ie cushions/ throws. You could also bring a natural colour in as well as a contrast fabric/rug. if the room wasn't dark I'd have suggested a pale shade of plum - looks lovely with silver (this is my job Smile love it!)

PrincessWellington · 29/06/2013 23:59

I love plum but ruled it out due to room being dark. Sad
Thanks for all your suggestions so far!
