Just had a quote for shutters, how much do you reckon?

Hi everyone , We came across this blog after looking for quotes for window shutters. We had a couple quotes fist from Thomas Sanderson which i didnt like the sales guy , he started at 12k which i thought was very expensive then said he could do deal on the day for £7500 !! My husband was away and i found very hard to make him leave as very pushy. We then found Woody's shutters on mums-net then on Facebook , really nice guy I sent the rough sizes over fist and they gave me a price online £3280. We booked for Woodys to come and survey i had messed the sizes up , guy worked out cost and was £2788 so very happy with price and the honesty he showed. We had shutters installed this week and i love them so so happy, excellent fit amazing service would highly recommend and my sister is going to place order also. :)

Do you need waterproof shutters for bathrooms or is this just a ploy to get you to pay twice as much when the wooden ones would be fine? Does anyone have the waterproof shutters? Do they look plastic/cheap? Or do they look great?!It's a minefield!

Wooden ones will warp in bathrooms due to steam/damp environment. Unless you have an exceptionally huge, exceptionally well ventilated bathroom, perhaps. That said, I'm not keen on the UPVC. I don't think it looks all that nice, so personally, I'd look for another solution.

We bought ours from Traditional Shutter Company about 7 years ago and love them. No problems with the company or the quality. One front window was about £1,800, iirc.

Hillary’s are doing mine in January and that was one bay window and a large door window combo type thing and a large flat window in kitchen and two smaller windows, it was 4000 and something,4300? I think.
