Hold onto your hats...rug positioning

In my bedroom, there is the bed, a chest thing each side and a rug. The rug needs to be horizontal
To the bed iyswim, if it were long ways underneath it there would only be about 2 inches sticking out each side

So should it go across the head end with the bedside chest things on. Or across the end with the chests on the floor. It can't go across the middle as then the chests are balancing half on half off an all wibbly wobbly

The floor is bare boards and the rug quite thick

And it's horrid getting out of bed onto bare floorboards

Ah ok, i would definitely put it across the bottom end if the bed with part of it visible beyond the bottom of the bed iyswim

Gawd, I saw the title and thought is said "RUG POISONING" and immediately thought to myself "how did she manage to poison her rug!???" followed by and the next thought, "must be a new illness called Rug Poisoning".

I am so dim.

In front of chest. So chest on bare floor. Rug in front.
