Non-white windows and surrounds. What colours?

We are painting our windows and the surrounds of windows and doors on our Victorian terrace. I want to go for a darker colour like a dark grey, which I have seen occasionally and really liked.
In F & B, I tried downpipe and railings samples.
Anyone else gone for non white, and if so what colours do you have?

I'm intereste to read replies to this thread, as I am also trying to decide what colour to paint our sash windows. We have an old stone farmhouse. The frames are currently cream, with a horrid grungy green front door. I was thinking "railings" for the front door, but then not sure what colour for windows that will go with the stone & the front door?
