Anyone want to help with ideas to decorate my home?

Starting with the living room.
Thinking of giving this place a bit of a re-vamp. Thinking of spray painting the dining chairs and getting some colour in here.
The living room walls are magnolia, sofas black, tv stand black, dining table and chairs medium/dark wood with green padded seats.
Wooden coffee table is a creamy colour.
All rather dull.
I want to get some colour in here but not sure how or what to do. I don't want to spend loads. Any ideas?

I quite like this colour for walls or maybe this although these colours look different on my laptop to phone......

I would keep the magnolia walls and get some colour in there with accessories. But that's because I find painting a ball-ache and would rather buy cushions.

Go with red & lime green cushions, buy a vase in either colour and put some colourful pictures on the wall. Change the lamp shade and buy a lime green rug from Ikea.

Then it won't cost much to change it again next year if you want to.

I am not very brave with colour and I like things to match perfectly but want to step away from thet.
I want to have cushions that are different colours and don't match. I want to have mis-matched chairs but still kepping it looking tied in iykwim.

We've also just started talking about buying a bigger place soon. I think realistically we are looking at 2 years.
We are currently in a 2 bed flat. The living room is a good size and in here I have 2 sofas, a dining table with 4 chairs, a large coffee table, the dc's small table, a narrow shelving unit floor to ceiling.
Large door and windows leading to our juliet balcony and the tv unit.
There are no twigs, pebbly shit or anything ornamental and decorative. I don't really do having stuff for the sake of it, plus dp is not keen on diy so we don't have shelves or anything like that.
This will be done gradually I think to allow me to adjust and gain confidence with colour and mis-matching.

And go for a bit of colour, why not! Magnolia is sooo boring!

Don't forget to do a sample area, I chose an orange I thought I liked recently, painted one area and then changed my mind!

The key to that look is to build it up slowly and not get everything from the same shop. TK Maxx is good for cushions and you can see how they go together. Then you can pick up a few extra accessories.

Less is more and balance out the colours, ie if you have a red cushion on the sofa, try and put a red vase or picture frame on the other side of the room. And then no more red in the whole room or it will be too much.

Also have different coloured woods in the room, but it sounds like you have that already. Can you replace the TV stand so it's not the same colour as the sofas?

I love a more ecclectic mix and people always ask how I knew that things would go together, but you just have to think of a garden & nature. There are many different colours and woods but they all work together.

I pick two accent colours and then throw in a random one for good measure. All background and furnishings are neutral and I have 3 different woods.

Was thinking of maybe getting some throws or something for sofas. Maybe doing the dining chairs different colours with different patterned/plain cushion covers.
I don't really have anywhere to put vases etc.
We have lived here for 5 years.
The hallway is lemon, the bathroom white with 1 row of blue tiles around the middle of the walls, we painted the dc's bedroom blue and our bedroom white with a green feature wall. the wall paper has brown and gold leaf patterns. The curtains are a green, but differet shade.
There is nothing on the walls in there.

In the living room, I have 3 dark brown photo frames on one wall and on the other 3 of those glass clip frames.
the cushions on the sofas are black, brown and grey stipes. Boring as hell.

Should add the floor is pale laminate

No rugs or anything either
