all white kitchen? yes or no?

my new kitchen (nearly finished YAY!!!) is white units and white tiles and currently white walls and ceiling. The worktop is a sort of mottled thing sort of a bit like that, handles are chrome. floor will match worktops. all woodwork is bright white gloss.

Would you keep the walls white or paint them a different colour?

I really love how white it looks, but I'm wondering if it's a little soulless, and also how practical white walls will be long term!

I'd go for a sage color on walls give it a bit of warmth I'm currently looking at upgrading my kitchen and googled some ideas hope this helps.

Oh sage is a very good idea! I need to repaint my kitchen next, and have all white floor and wall tiles and white units and a mixture of white and steel appliances with wood/wicker bits and bobs....

It seems to work really well with white clean calm colour but modern and homely at the same time I think

If you wanted to keep them white you could add some colour with art?

sage. sounds nice. I've always gone for either yellow or teracotta in my kitchen. Wouldn't have thought of a green. Do you think it would go with that worktop though?

I would have some art but all the walls have cupboards, so nowhere to hang anything.

I wonder if maybe some decorative tiles might work. I think you can get tile transfers, can't you?

Sage sounds better and better and I want to change the handles on my units to something more traditional...

Try an inconspicuous place for colour. I have all white cupboards slate floor and black slate effect worktop. Brushed steel accessories and sage green wall although only wall exposed really is above cooker and black roller blind. It looks nice.

I have one wall I think I am going to paint with blackboard paint as we need somewhere big to write messages/shopping lists etc. Then green on the other walls (two of them really).

We have the Farrow and Ball Living with Colour book and there is one example of an all white kitchen and it looks great!

We repainted our cupboards from duck egg to a sort of sage colour last year with sort of silver/ pewterish handles. Will see if i can find a pic of something similar

I have a new shaker style kitchen in cream with sage splashback and tiles. Tis soothing. I have framed botanical prints on the walls which pick out the sage nicely and a giant ship's clock, also in a greeny colour.

White is a great idea but was afraid it would be too high maintenance in a large kitchen.

I have an all white kitchen, white worktops and white floor, the walls are very pale pink. It is my absolute favourite room. We have a large velux and given that the sky is so often grey I wanted some warmth, but I hate yellowy creams, hence the pink. It is beautiful. We are moving soon and I'm going to recreate it in our new house

I have decided. I am going to leave it all white and have my bits and bobs in chrome, to match the handles. My kettle and toaster already are, so I have to get a new bin, bread bin and possibly microwave, although my husband thinks that one should remain white.

It just looks so bright and clean and clear and lovely!

I think too much white can look a bit like a morgue... Especially with metal.
But I'm sure yours doesn't!
