No hallway, where do you keep coats?

Sorry this is quite boring, lol! Our front door goes straight into the living room, no hallway, if you had a similar layout where do you keep coats?

In previous places we've always had coat hooks in the hall but I think hold on the wall in the living room will look odd, we've had coat stands but they keep breaking!

We have a terraced house, front door straight off the pavement & into living room. Stairs in the middle of living & dining rooms. We have pegs on the wall at the bottom of the stairs! Only place for them really!
Hope this helps!

We do the same as Nat38

In our old house we used a coatstand, but a sturdy one that didn't break!

Currently we live in a bungalow; we have a hallway but it is a long corridor and too narrow for pegs. We have some coats in a wardrobe in the utility room, the DCs keep theirs on the back of their bedroom doors (this works cos it's a bungalow), then there is another stash behind the door of the downstairs loo. Coats everywhere, basically!

Understairs cupboard on hooks.

Hooks on the back of all of the doors downstairs. We have NO storage.

Hooks on back of back door.

Thanks all! Yes, I think your idea works Nats, we could put hooks at the bottom of the stairs in between the living room and kitchen :)
