definitely velvet brocade

search for brocade and tapestries.

They are old fashioned, but they have a certain timeless quality if you have the right context. Can be slightly Goth ish too.

Bit too heavy and dark for me, but would be very luxurious in the right place

the second link may be lampas brocade.

the things you have look like the sort of stuff you'd have to have specially made by some heritage craftsperson.

You can get curtains like this at Curtain exchange www.thecurtainexchange.co.uk/secondhand-curtains.html

Which make new but main business is selling on well cared for curtains such as the ones in your link or similar - eBay have great interlined curtains -

I've seen a lot of these on ebay - maybe not quite so grand!

ooooh thanks. We rent our house, it is on a country estate, and used to be the head gardener's house. It is victorian with large windows, and large draughty rooms. It is a bit tired and battered, but in a lovely old sort of way, and I was trying to create a sort of hunting lodge look. Can I show you my pinterest page ?????
