Modern country kitchen cabinets and work top

We're planning to knock down two walls and put in a new kitchen.
We have a cottage so our rooms aren't massive and the ceilings are low. There is a wall of tongue and groove on one wall that we'd like to keep.
So, I'm looking for a kitchen that's quite classic or slightly country without being twee. I want to steer clear of tongue nd groove cabinets.
Please help me with inspirational links, ideas or company recommendations!

I'm planning a new kitchen too. We have a cottage with generally small rooms, but the kitchen is in the extension and quite big with normal height ceilings. I want to keep the Aga, so the kitchen will hopefully be 'modern country'. Anyway, I've fallen in love with www.kitstone.co.uk/KitchenGallery.aspx.

Yes, didnt say I could afford it!! Their adverts say their average kitchen costs £10k, which for solid wood, handpainted, isnt expensive.

I'm going to get the kitchen planned by them (for free), then hopefully mix some of their units with some cheaper ones - so maybe use their base units, but cheaper wall units, or open shelving. Or use their base units, but cheaper full height larder units. You can buy their paint to repaint cheaper units, or mix their painted units with cheaper white or natural wood units.

Would buy sink, worktops, handles, flooring elsewhere too. Or, people keep saying their fab chippie copied a kitchen design. Although I dont have a fab chippie and would hate to risk it.

So much to think about....

I just love that kitstone kitchen! I'm trying to plan a kitchen too and that's exactly the style I want. Not sure if I'll be able to find it where i am though (Italy). Need to find a fab chippie myself!

Did the designer come up with good ideas, or was it just a case of fitting as many cabinets as possible into the space available? Also did they come to your house, the Marlborough branch doesnt and apparently some do.

I had an appointment in the showroom- not sure if they offer home consultations or not. The lady was lovely and spent over an hour going through the design. She listened to what I wanted and didn't try and push anything on me that I didn't like... Having said that I would have liked her to have been a little more forthcoming with alternative ideas but then the kitchen layout I have doesn't really allow for variation! I left with the 3D designs print outs and she sent me a quote through 2 days later. I was surprised to learn that silestone is still quite a bit more expensive than granite! So need to rethink that!

These kitchens are perfect, just what we are looking for.
Does anyone know of a similar company in the North West?

Good evening, I am in the throws of planning a kitchen from scratch and need to decide if it's wooden or painted units. I don't want anything which will look dated in 10 years or so. The kitchen will not be too elaborate. Many thanks.
