Mumsnet help needed. I have chandeliers in a few rooms and i use frosted candle effect bulbs ( they have a little twist at the top of them). Unfortunately because of E.U. Regulations about frosted glass and my local lighting shops closing down i can't buy them anymore. Any website u have used and would recommend that might do them please

I have just had to go to the ordinary candlebulb ones as I couldn't get the little pointy top ones. They look surprisingly ok in mine.

I don't think you will get them now, they are no longer produced and importing via a website isn't going to work as the fittings are not compatible or the wattage you can get small energy saving candle bulbs which will probably be your closest alternative

Thank you for replies. First world problem i know but am annoyed. Non frosted is a very 'glary' hard light. Wanted a softer effect. So american website for supply wouldn't work you think. Because of recession here quite a few lighting shops have clised down. Bloody E.U. regulations - bloody E.U.

Have you got an Ikea near you? I bought some small chandelier energy saving bulbs with a candle pointy top at Ikea just a few months ago. They are frosted. E14 screw fitting (the small size screw fitting), so may not suit your chandelier.

You can get white, soft effect candle energy-saving bulbs though, they don't look harsh. Ours are from B&Q.

Can you get the little lamp shades for each bulb? This was suggested for our similar light in our living room and it made a huge difference to the harshness of the light in the room.
