We have painted DS2's room buttermilk, the curtains are a similar colour as is the lampshade. It is quite a small room but the walls now look quite bare (it had wallpaper on before).
I want to put some pictures/ prints/ transfers on the walls but I am not sure what kind of thing. I was thinking perhaps something incorporating letters and numbers, but doesn't have to. I'd like something stimulating (I mean to stimulate his imagination), not too babyish, and that I would like as well, because I am in there a lot (he is a v poor sleeper)! His brother aged five has a blue and red room with transfers of a race track with cars on, and car wallpaper in an alcove.
He likes Octonauts (but I don't really want "character" pictures, and the playroom hasn't been decorated so we often stick posters etc from magazines up in there) and Gruffalo (but I am a bit worried that the Gruffalo might be a bit scary in the night) and Alfie/ Annie Rose. I like vintage type things, like the pictures in Ladybird books and Mabel Lucie Atwell (but a bit twee for him?).
Any ideas?! I have to go read some bedtime stories now but I will come back later in case anyone has been brilliant enough to think of anything!
