What toys will keep ds2 occupied on early morning flight?

We're heading to Gran Canaria on Saturday. DS2 was two last weekend and I'm on the search for things that will keep him occupied on the flight.

Things that might make a difference;

1/ Flight leaves at 6am ()
2/ He's an active little soul with the attention span of the most miniscule of goldfishes ever to have swum the seas
3/ He is desperate to be like DS1 (5) and so regular toddler toys sometimes just don't make the grade (sadly, it's so disappointing that some of the lovely games we played with when ds1 was this age just don't cut it )

Am I being a bit ambitious thinking that it might not be hell?

A portable dvd player and a few favourite dvd's worked for our 2yr old, as well as a new comic, which had a few free gifts in.
Was good for about half an hour anyway

It'll be fine! Presumably with a 6am flight, you'll all have been up for a few hours beforehand - so he may well nod off for an hour or so.

I bet he will nod off as soon as the plane takes off if my 2 year old was anything to go by. My son loves watching things on my Ipod touch if you have anything like that- we have some peppa pigs and Thomas on for emergency use! Stickers also seem to go down well.... good luck!
