Anyone been to Monte Santo, Carvoeiro? Am tempted but would love a MN review please

Anyone been? It sounds lovely but any real life mumsnet reviews would be much appreciated. We don't really have a regular holiday type but like modern and clean with plenty of space, definately a pool to enjoy with the dd's 8 and 4 (but definately not one with entertainment around it). Obviously would love idea of Vila Vita type but can't beleive the prices so any reviews on Monte Santo would be much appreciated, I really want to book somewhere soon but seem to be going round in circles. Help

I remember them building it a couple of years ago. It is a bit far out for me, you won't be able to walk into town. Will you have a car? perhaps they run a bus?

The pools look lovely. I recommend zoomarine and the slide and splash and also the sand sculptures if you go in the evening when they have a bit of a light show. the algarve zoo is also not too far away.

Thanks Trice. We will be hiring a car, DH can't go for more than a few days without a drive but they also do a free shuttle bus to the town and to the beach.
We went to Lagos a few years ago and loved it but we've not had a hotel holiday at all since we've had dd's but having a two bedroomed apartment sounds ideal. Fingers crossed.
