What are the UK & USA rules regarding car seats?

Hi, we are coming to visit family in the UK and not sure of the up to date rules for car seats, ds is 9 and currently uses a booster seat with back. Just wondering if I need to bring the seat bit with me for the trip.

We are then travelling onto Colorado in the US, do the same rules apply there?

Thanks in advance

A 9yr old is perfectly safe in just a booster cushion (no back) here in the UK

Not sure about Colorado though, sorry.

Thanks, we use the back because he usually falls asleep on car journeys and it stops him falling to the side!! Will bring just the seat with us then

A booster cushion (without a back) is fine in the UK.

In the US, the rules are state-specific.
