We're off to Cornwall with 16mo ds. We haven't had a holiday as a family before so I have no idea what to pack!

What are the essential - and possibly easy to forget items?

Be a devil and have a guess as to what you will need.

You are not heading to Ulan Bator so anything you forget can easily be picked up locally.

Rather depends on what kind of holiday it is.

Will you have access to a washing machine? Ie do you have to pack enough clothes for every single day or will you be able to do laundry easily.

Is it self catering or hotel? Ie will you be able to give him what he likes to eat when he's hungry and be in charge of your own food or will you need to bring extra snacks etc to work around hotel meal times.

How are you travelling there? If you only have minimal space in your car pack accordingly and buy extra nappies, food etc when you get there. If you are going by train make sure you can carry what you take as well as wheeling buggy etc.

I would suggest you need enough nappies etc for 24 hours, whatever you'd usually have in your bag when you take him out the whole day, your buggy, car seat (if going by car), and special toy etc.
The rest you can buy when you get there. Unless you want to take a bucket and spade etc rather than buy it when you're there and have the room for it.
