Hi everyone,

We're planning on going away late August/ Early September with DS who'll be 13 months. This is our first holiday abroad with him and want to go for some sun that's not too far away. The Balearics are about 2hrs from Manchester so would be perfect.

I just need some recommendations on where to go! I have been to Pollenca years ago and thought it was lovely but would like to try somewhere new, anyone been to East/West Mallorca?

We would like a smallish village/ town with some nice traditional restaurants (nothing chavvy! or Magaluf-esk!) that's family friendly. Hotel/ Apartment - not fussed.

Please give me your recommendations!

Thanks in advance x

Pollensa/Puerto Pollensa in Mallrca perfect with children (we went with dd1 when she was that age). Also just been to menorca, we were in Cala Blanca (near Ciutadella) which if anything was even more child friendly (dds just 4 and nearly 2). We hired villas in both.

If yo can wait till the schools have gone back as will be cheaper, quieter and the weather will still be good and the sea warm (rg think about the 2nd weekend in Sept).

just back from Cala D'Or which was great. We normally go to Pollensa but fancied a change and I have to say the beaches in the Cala D'or area are much better than the north of the island. We loved visitng Porto Petro nearby for authentic majorcan fishing village with. we had a villa with Villa Parade who we have been with for 4 years and they are great.

Thanks for the replies and recommendations! I will look into Cala D'Or. We're restricted to this time of year as our childminder is off then. It is peak time which is a bit of bummer! x

Another vote for Cala D'or. We've been twice and are going back in September. Lovely place
