Has anyone been to Estartit (recently)?

I have found a nice-looking campsite in Estartit, but I just wondered if anyone knows what the town is like these days?

I went to Estartit as a young child and my mum tells me it was very 'Brits abroad'. Is it still likely that now? I have read various contradictory reviews that it is either more run down, or nicer and more Spanish now.

I'm not very sure.

What I do know is that I know a family who have an apartment in Estartit and they are very Brits Abroad. MIL likes to visit them there and she is even more Brits Abroad.

But it might just be them.

It is good for launching off to Girona and Barcelona though!

I used to go to Estartit every summer when I was a kid, it was quite 'brits abroad' then(but i'm 31 so long while ago) Last time I went was 4 years ago with my family and dd who was 2 at the time. We loved it and it was so much brits abroad. Was quite run down in places though

I'm going to go back once ds is a bit older, he's 3 now.
