Hi, We're heading to the US soon and I have a ten month old. Can anyone recommend a decent make of baby food we can buy there? Cheers!

I would just feed a 10mo what you are eating - obv try to make it fresh (salad, veg, plain meat, fruit etc) to limit salt (so no KFC or super-salty tuna melt!)

If this isn't what you do at home I would certainly advise it.

No 10mo needs to be eating baby food. Hope you have a good trip.

I would have done exactly that for my two other kids but DS is dreadful with anything dry/finger food-ie and really only eats off a spoon. I'd appreciate any recommendations for back-up plans!

I would give him a spoon. What's not to like?

Thanks but I wasn't looking for advice just the recommendation of a decent brand of commercially produced food to use if I have trouble getting him to eat. Obviously I can't cook in a hotel. My girls were so much easier!

Gerber is a good make of such baby food.

I would second Gerber - they have a huge range available and their jars all seemed to be much healthier than what's available here in Austria.

Great. Thanks very much. The name does sound familiar so I'll keep my eyes peeled for it. Hopefully I won't need it but it's useful to know a make - especially if I sent DH out for it!

Earth's Best (or something like that) is good. DS (who was also 10 months at the time) would eat it when we ran out my stash of Plum brand products.

It looks like you can also get Ella's Organics in a lot of "big box" stores:

Gerber's is a very well established name brand here and very easy to find in virtually any supermarket.

Brilliant, laraeo, thanks. I think someone brought DD1 Earth's Best Elmo apple juice back from Florida when she was obsessed with him/it.
