The night time parade and fireworks. Even my 15 year old was impressed.

Otherwise, there's not much for older children. Isn't the Tower of Terror in one of the other parks?

If the children are roller coaster fiends it's worth going to Busch Gardens for the day. It's a bit of a trek, but doable if you hire a car. I think some hotels do excursions there too. They have some fabulous ones. It finally stopped DS2 (then 13) saying "It's not as good as Thorpe Park"

If you're doing all the parks Universal Studios has a couple of good roller coasters and the Simpsons's ride there was my absolute favorite.

Also if you get multi visit tickets and you're going in August, it's very hot and humid. Get to the parks at least 20mins before opening, rush and do the 2 biggest rides before the queues build up, then mooch around and see the other stuff. Go to one of the water parks for the afternoon.

We bought cereal bars in the supermarket for lunch - you're supposed to buy very overpriced food in the parks, but unless you shove it in someone's face they don't challenge you. Carry water bottles. All the parks have drinking fountains you can fill them up for free.

Also in Busch Gardens its worth getting their fast pass ticket (can't remember if that's what they call it). It's quite a bit extra but otherwise you won't get round everything.

Test Track - Epcot

At that age, they will probably prefer the stuff at Universal tbh.

I wouldn't spend too much time at Disney with kids that age.

IngaLand · 24/06/2010 13:07

The Parade at the end of the day is quite magical.

Agree that Universal will have better rides for them, but Disney is Disney, isn't it? Def worth a day at the Magic Kingdom at least!

MikeStand · 11/07/2010 18:04

My children are 10 and 12 (boy and girl). We didn't find much at the magic kingdom but plenty for older kids at epcot, animal kingdom and disney hollywood studios.
